Youth facing multiple sexual assault charges in eastern Ontario: OPP

A 17-year-old from Drummond-North Elmsley is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault involving multiple youth victims, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The youth was initially charged on Jan. 20 with sexual assault, assault, three counts of uttering threats, and two counts of assault with a weapon following an investigation into sexual assault allegations, the OPP said in a news release Friday.

Police continued to investigate the allegations and laid more charges on Tuesday, including three counts of sexual assault and assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Perth, Ont. at a later date.

Police note that his name is protected under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
