Woman taken to hospital following collision involving OC Transpo bus on Hwy. 174

The Ottawa Paramedic Service says an adult woman was taken to hospital following a three-vehicle collision involving an OC Transpo bus on Highway 174 Friday afternoon.

Paramedics say they received a call shortly after 4 p.m., reporting a collision between a car, a truck and a bus at the 174 East-bound, between the split and Innes Road.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital in stable condition. Other people were also assessed at the scene but were not taken to hospital, paramedics say.

In a statement to CTV News Ottawa Friday, OC Transpo said “an out of service bus with no passengers on board was involved” in the collision.

“The bus operator was assessed on scene by paramedics and released,” read the statement.

Following the incident, the Ottawa Police Service closed the East-bound lanes from the split to Blair Road.

“The highway is in the process of being re-opened. Please continue to expect significant traffic delays in the area,” the city’s police service said on X.
