Periods of snow to blanket Ottawa today and tonight

Ottawa will see periods of light snow today and tonight, as the cleanup continues from the 70 centimetres of snow the capital received last week.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud to start today, with periods of light snow this afternoon. High -7 C, with the wind chill making it feel like -14.

Periods of light snow ending late this evening then mainly cloudy overnight. Low -16 C with the wind chill making it feel like -24.

Cloudy on Friday. High -8 C.

Ottawa will receive a break from the minus double-digit temperatures this weekend, with above-seasonal temperatures in the forecast.

Saturday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High -3 C.

A mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of flurries on Sunday. High -1 C.

The outlook for Monday calls for cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of snow. High 1 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -3 C and a low of -12 C.
