Ottawa police seek to identify York Street assault suspect

Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of assaulting a patron at a business on York Street earlier this month.

Police said the incident happened in the “early morning hours” of Feb. 1, at a “licenced establishment” in the 1-100 block of York Street between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street. The suspect allegedly hit the victim with a blunt object and ran away.

The victim’s injuries were minor.

Police described the suspect as a white male, approximately 50 years old, and around six feet (183cm) tall, with light-coloured hair and facial hair. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a brown leather jacket.
