Merivale Road robbery suspect sought by Ottawa police

The Ottawa Police Service is asking the public for help identifying a suspect involved in a robbery from a store on Merivale Road last month.

On Jan. 16 around 11:30 a.m., the suspect entered a store located in the 1400 block of Merivale Road and passed a note to the employee working the cash register at the counter, asking for multiple products. The suspect left the store with the products while brandishing a knife, police say.

No injuries were reported.

He is described as a Black man with a slim build in his 30s. He was seen wearing a dark blue puffy jacket, white shirt, black tuque and blue medical mask, at the time of the incident. Police note that he also had a goatee.
