Here’s how many votes were cast in Ottawa in advance polls ahead of the Ontario election

More than 42,000 Ottawa residents cast ballots in advance polls for the 44th general election in Ontario.

Elections Ontario says 678,789 people across Ontario voted during the three days of advance polls from Thursday to Saturday, representing 6.14 per cent of eligible voters.

Statistics released by the non-partisan office shows 42,280 people cast ballots in Ottawa’s eight provincial ridings during the advance polls.

Ottawa Centre had the highest voter turnout in Ottawa, with 8,050 votes cast in advance polls.

The riding of Carleton had the second highest voter turnout, with 7,790 votes cast, while the riding of Ottawa-Vanier had the lowest voter turnout with 3,218 ballots cast.

Here is a look at the number of ballots cast during advance polls in Ottawa.

• Ottawa Centre: 8,050 ballots (6.89 per cent of total registered electors)
• Carleton: 7,790 ballots (7.02 per cent of total registered electors)
• Nepean: 5,457 ballots (5.32per cent of total registered electors)
• Orléans: 4,512 ballots (3.83 per cent of total registered electors)
• Ottawa South: 4,496 (4.57 per cent of total registered electors)
• Ottawa West-Nepean: 4,470 ballots (4.94 per cent of total registered electors)
• Kanata-Carleton: 4,287 ballots (4.53 per cent of total registered electors)
• Ottawa-Vanier: 3,218 ballots (3.13 per cent of total registered electors)

The riding of Simcoe-Grey had the highest number of ballots cast during advance polls, with 9,889 ballots cast during the three days of advance polls.

Voters can vote on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. If you haven’t received your voter information card, you can find your voting location on the Elections Ontario website.

Elections Ontario says you can also vote in your person at your local election office from the day after an election in your electoral district has been called until 6 p.m. the day before election day (Wednesday).

• Kingston and the Islands: 8,972 ballots (8.49 per cent of total registered electors)
• Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston: 7,731 ballots (8.57 per cent of total registered electors)
• Bay of Quinte: 7,591 ballots (7.72 per cent of total registered electors)
• Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes: 7,186 ballots (8.12 per cent of total registered electors)
• Hastings-Lennox and Addington: 7,101 ballots (8.47 per cent of total registered electors)
• Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke: 6,704 ballots (7.51 per cent of total registered electors)
• Glengarry-Prescott-Russell: 5,679 ballots (5.74 per cent of total registered electors)
