5 people displaced following fire in Ottawa’s Greenboro neighbourhood

Five adults have been displaced following an early morning fire in Ottawa’s Greenboro neighbourhood.

The Ottawa Fire Services says 9-1-1 received a call from a resident at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, reporting a fire in the second-floor bathroom of a home on Havenhurst Crescent, near Hunt Club Road. The resident told officials they believed the fire had spread to the attic.

Flames were coming from the roof of the home when firefighters arrived on the scene.

“Firefighters initiated a fast attack and advanced a hose line inside to the second floor,” officials said.

“Firefighters began searching the home for any occupants. The fire was quickly extinguished.”

Smoke from the fire spread into the attic of the attached home.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
