3 teens injured after vehicle hits tree in rural west Ottawa

Ottawa paramedics say three teenagers were taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in the city’s rural west end Thursday night.

The vehicle struck a tree on Old Carp Road west of Old Second Line Road just after 9:30 p.m.

Ottawa Paramedic Service public information officer Marc-Antoine Deschamps told CTV News Ottawa that all three occupants were male teens.

The driver had critical injuries. One passenger suffered serious injuries, while the other passenger had minor injuries. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening, Deschamps said.

Ottawa Fire Services say firefighters were called by Ottawa police to the scene to aid with extricating two people who were trapped in the vehicle, one of whom was the driver.

Both people were safely removed from the vehicle by 10:06 p.m., a news release said.
