Search warrant leads to arrest, recovery of stolen property

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with possession of stolen property after the execution of a search warrant at a residence in northern Ontario.

On Jan. 28, OPP officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Larocque Street in West Nipissing.

“A search of the residence led to the seizure of stolen property,” said police in a social media post Friday.

Authorities seized a 2009 Caterpillar 256C skid steer, a home-made trailer and two snowmobile sleighs.

As a result, a 35-year-old man from Field, Ont., has been charged with multiple counts of possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The accused was held for a bailing hearing before being remanded, his next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 12.
