Highway 69 reopens after early morning crash near French River

A collision had closed Highway 69 at Pickerel River Road in French River, according to a tweet Saturday morning.

“Highway 69 south of Pickerel River Road in French River is closed in both directions following a collision,” said police on social media in their initial post at 5:25 a.m.

“OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) on scene.”

No details on the cause of the collision, if any charges are pending or the extent of any injuries have been released by police.

The Ministry of Transportation’s 511 Traveller Information Service indicates the highway closure began shortly after 4:30 a.m.

No detours were listed by police or the ministry during the closure.

The roadway reopened shortly before 8:30 a.m.

CTV News has reached out to the OPP for further comment on the crash, but those calls have not yet been returned.
