Coroner’s office investigates death in North Bay

Police say the coroner is investigating a sudden death in North Bay's 1800-block of Algonquin Avenue, reported Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

The Office of the Chief Coroner has taken over the investigation after the remains of a deceased person were discovered Sunday afternoon in North Bay.

Police, fire and paramedics responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m. July 5 in the 1800 block of Algonquin Avenue.

“The deceased has been identified, and the investigation has been turned over to the Office of the Chief Coroner, which will determine the cause and manner of death,” police said in a news release July 6.

“Investigators have determined there is no evidence to suggest this incident poses an ongoing risk to public safety.”

While the identity of the deceased person has been determined, police won’t be releasing their name.
