These five 2025 Montreal murders are unsolved with no arrests

Last week, Montreal police (SPVM) arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of a 22-year-old victim in August 2025.

The arrest concluded one of six open SPVM homicides, with a total of nine unresolved cases in Quebec for the year.

In total, there were 39 homicides in Quebec in 2025, with 31 of those in Montreal.

According to Quebec provincial police, 30 murders have since been solved, with five of the now eight remaining open cases connected to organized crime.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) solved three organized crime-related cases in 2025.

Here are the five open homicides in Montreal (see map below for exact locations):

Shooting death in Ahuntsic, No. 4, Feb. 19

Police responded at 9 p.m. at the corner of Cousineau and Lauren streets in Ahuntsic-Cartierville and found a 20-year-old man who was shot in the upper body.

He died in the hospital.

Undetermined death in Ahuntsic, No. 14, May 20

Police say that the method of death is “undetermined” in the 14th homicide of the year involving a 57-year-old man near Lajeunesse and Frémont streets in the Ahuntsic neighbourhood.

Shooting death in Angrignon Park, No. 19, June 24

At 8:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in his car in the Angrinon Park parking lot.

He died on July 4 in hospital.

Shooting death in Anjou, No. 20, July 9

A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in a residential building at 4:30 p.m. on des Ormeaux Avenue near Georges Avenue in Anjou.

Shooting death, No. 31, Oct. 9

The final murder of 2025 has not been solved.

A 35-year-old man was shot in the Camille Street-Ouellette Avenue area of the Ville Saint-Pierre neighbourhood on Oct. 9.

He died in hospital on Nov. 21.
