Quebec Liberal Party: André Fortin to speak on behalf of party leader

After being named leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) on Friday, Charles Milliard reshuffled his parliamentary caucus in the National Assembly.

Milliard appointed André Fortin as his substitute member of office at the National Assembly as Milliard is not yet an elected MNA.

Fortin held this position after former PLQ leader Pablo Rodriguez dismissed Marwah Rizqy and suspended her from the caucus in November. Shortly after, Rodriguez resigned as party leader while mired in controversy.

Milliard also appointed Marc Tanguay, who once again became interim party leader after Rodriguez’s resignation, as parliamentary leader.

He had previously served as interim party leader between Dominique Anglade’s departure in November 2022 and Rodriguez’s election in June 2025.

Frédéric Beauchemin will keep his position as deputy leader.

Filomena Rotiroti, appointed chief whip of the official opposition in December 2025, is handing over her position to Jennifer Maccarone.

Michelle Setlakew is taking over as caucus chair from Enrico Ciccone.
