Sunshine and comfortable temperatures today, with hotter, humid conditions forecast by Thursday

Julie Atchison has the latest forecast for southwestern Ontario

Lots of sunshine, low humidity and a gorgeous breeze out of the north carries us through Tuesday afternoon,

According to CTV News meteorologist Julie Atchison, temperatures in the mid 20s will continue through the afternoon, and as we head into this evening, clear conditions continue.

“We remain under this blocking pattern in the upper atmosphere and that means much of the same cool and comfortable out there tonight. The temperature will drop down to about eight degrees,” said Atchison.

“So a nice fresh start to your Wednesday. Sunshine expected right across the region, mainly sunny with light winds but warming will hit 26 degrees in the afternoon.”

By Thursday, we can expect the temperature to reach 30 C, getting quite hot across southern Ontario.

“The upper air pattern starts to break down and the winds will kick around to the south. That will push the heat and humidity into southern Ontario. Friday, the high 31 overnight lows creeping up as well,” Atchison added.

The next opportunity for rainfall will come Friday night and we have the chance for showers this weekend.

Tuesday: Sunny. Becoming a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon. Wind becoming north 20 km/h this afternoon. High 25. UV index 8 or very high.

Tuesday night: A few clouds. Wind north 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low 8.

Wednesday: Mainly sunny. High 26. UV index 8 or very high.

Thursday: Sunny. High 30.

Friday: Sunny. High 33.

Saturday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 28.
