Retirement home fraud victims lose nearly 200K: Oxford OPP

One person is facing charges in Oxford County in connection to a fraud investigation at a retirement home.

OPP began their investigation in August of 2024 after receiving reports of fraud from the home in Norwich.

According to police, their initial investigation revealed multiple victims had lost an estimated total of $50,000. Now, police believe the total is over $190,000.

A 50-year-old individual from Tillsonburg has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000. The name of the accused is not being released due to concerns for their wellbeing, according to police.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

This investigation is ongoing.
