Police resume search for missing Grey County man

OPP have resumed the search for missing Grey County man James Van Veen, who has not been seen since late January.

It’s been two months since James Van Veen was last seen alive.

After bad weather scuttled searches in January, the Grey County OPP resumed the ground search for the missing Grey County man on Wednesday.

The 64-year-old Van Veen was last seen on Jan. 26. His truck was found parked at the Inglis Falls Conservation Area, near Owen Sound.

That’s where OPP canine units, underwater search teams, aerial units and ground teams picked up their search on Wednesday.

Inglis Falls Conservation Area was closed Wednesday as a result of the large-scale police activity.

The police search builds on a family led search back in February. Working with Please Bring Me Home crews that help search for missing people across Canada, individuals searched the Inglis Falls area on Feb. 8.

Police want anyone who was in the Inglis Falls area between the evening of Jan. 25 and the late morning of Jan. 26 to review any dashcam, home surveillance or trail camera footage for potential sightings.
