Former LPS officer investigated by SIU for alleged sexual assault

A former London police officer is being investigated by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) for alleged sexual assaults that occurred in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

On Feb. 2, 2022, the SIU was made aware of allegations against retired London Police Service Officer Edward Lane.

The incidents occurred in London between 1985 and 1987, and 1988 and 1991, prior to his retirement.

Lane is scheduled to appear in court in March.

The SIU investigates the conduct of officials that have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault or discharge of a firearm.
