Break and enter of business in Simcoe linked to a string of vehicle break-ins: OPP

A 43-year-old has been charged following a string of thefts in Simcoe.

Police say that on Friday at around 9:30 a.m., a break and enter on Norfolk Street South in Simcoe was being investigated.

Shortly before 5:00 a.m., one person entered the business unlawfully, stealing some Canadian currency as well as various electronics. They they fled the area on foot.

Later that day, police located someone that matched the suspect’s description and took them into custody. A search yielded some of the stolen property from the business, along with the contents of some vehicles in the area that had been broken into on Tulip Crescent.

The suspect now faces charges of break, enter a place, as well as six counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
