Snow squall warnings, travel advisories, road closures in effect

A snow squall warning has been issued for London-Middlesex and Huron County.

Additionally, a weather advisory is in effect for parts of the region, including Bruce, and Grey Counties, as well as parts of Elgin County.

Lake effect snow has developed again, with lots of blowing snow seen on area roads. Northwest winds gusting up to 70 km/h, this is resulting in poor visibility.

The snow bands are expected to weaken or move out of the area tonight, and accumulations are not expected to be very significant.

Road closures

• Highway 21 between Amberly and Southampton
• Highway 4 between Hensall and Exeter
• Highway 23 between Highway 7 and Mitchell
• County Road 4 between Clinton and Blyth
• Highway 4 from Exeter to Mt. Carmel Road
• Highway 21 from Bayfield south to Grand Bend

Saturday night: Flurries. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 60 becoming light before morning. Low minus 11. Wind chill near minus 18.

Sunday: Flurries. Wind west 20 km/h. High minus 4. Wind chill minus 19 in the morning and minus 10 in the afternoon.

Monday: A mix of sun and cloud. High plus 2.

Tuesday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 6.

Wednesday: Showers. High 10.

Thursday: Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries. Windy. High zero.
