Second teen arrested in Brantford robbery and attempted Guelph robbery 2 years ago

A second Waterloo teen has been arrested for attempting to rob a Guelph business and robbing a Brantford business in 2023.

Shortly after noon on June 19, three males in a stolen vehicle went to business on Silvercreek Parkway North. Guelph police said they were wearing gloves, masks and sunglasses and carrying reusable shopping bags but were unable to enter the business as the front doors were locked as a safety precaution.

Later that afternoon the males drove the same stolen vehicle to a Brantford business where they allegedly brandished weapons and stole a large quantity of prescription medication.

On Wednesday, an 18-year-old Waterloo man was arrested in Toronto while serving a sentence for an unrelated matter. He was 16 at the time of crimes and is charged with robbery, attempted robbery, possessing stolen property over $5,000 and several weapons offences. He is expected in court in March.

A 19-year-old Waterloo man, who was 17 at the time, was arrested previously on similar charges and will appear in court later this month.
