Police looking for more than $100K worth of cigarettes stolen from Guelph

Police in Guelph are looking for around $100,000 worth of cigarettes stolen from a business in the city’s east end.

Guelph Police Service officers were called by an alarm company on Sunday at 1:20 a.m. They were told an alarm had been set off at a business near Victoria Road North and Grange Street.

Investigators said suspects pried open a door and an interior metal gate to get to the cigarettes. The stolen goods were then loaded into the back of a vehicle.

The latest theft comes after a similar incident earlier this month.

The Guelph Police Service was called to a business near Eramosa Road and Metcalfe Street on Jan. 5 after three suspects stole cigarettes worth between $18,000 and $20,000. Those suspects left the area in a white vehicle.
