Mother threatened using personal Facebook photos of her kids: Guelph Police

Guelph Police is investigating after they say a mother received messages threatening her children.

The woman contacted police on Tuesday morning after she says she received messages from an unknown person through a messaging app.

“The messages included photos of the woman’s three children and indicated their lives could be at risk if the woman did not pay $1,000,” police said in a news release.

She contacted police instead.

Police said the photos were taken from the victim’s own Facebook account.
