Guelph high school students warned after using AI to create nude images of classmates

Two high school students in Guelph got a lesson about child pornography offences after the Guelph Police Service said they were using an artificial intelligence (AI) program to create nude images of some of their classmates.

A school administrator called police on Jan. 13 and told them the students had the images.

Investigators said the 15-year-old boys had been using AI to make the images of five female students using photos from the victim’s social media accounts. Police said all five girls were aware of the investigation.

Police said the boys expressed remorse and will be taking part in an educational program through the John Howard Society in lieu of charges.
