Woolwich council approves 7.5 per cent tax rate increase

Homeowners in the Township of Woolwich can expect to pay 7.5 per cent more on the township’s portion of their taxes.

For the average homeowner, it will mean an additional $9.66 per month, or $115.92 per year.

Council approved the budget on Tuesday, including $3.1 million earmarked for road repairs and $2.4 million for bridgework.

“The 2025 Budget is a reflection of our responsibility to deliver value to our residents,” Mayor Sandy Shantz said in a news release. “It ensures that as Woolwich grows, we can meet the needs of today while creating a foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future.”

Last year’s township budget featured an 8.7 per cent increase.
