Two teenagers arrested, including 13-year-old, after violent Cambridge buy-and-sell robbery

Two teenagers, including a 13-year-old, were arrested after a violent buy-and-sell robbery in Cambridge Thursday morning.

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) were told a person had met with the suspect to sell a cell phone they had posted on a buy-and-sell website. When the victim arrived at the planned location, they were confronted by two people with their faces covered. Police were told a noxious substance was sprayed, the cell phone was stolen and the victim was assaulted before the duo ran off.

WRPS officers later found both suspects nearby and arrested them.

A 19-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy, both from Cambridge, were charged with disguise with intent, robbery with a weapon, administering a noxious thing with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and assault.

The 19-year-old male was held for a bail hearing.
