Waterloo driver dead after a three-vehicle crash north of Guelph

A fatal crash has closed a stretch of Wellington County Road 51 north of Guelph, Feb. 28, 2025 (Sidra Jafri/CTV News).

A 28-year-old man from Waterloo was pronounced dead after a three-vehicle crash just north of Guelph on Friday morning.

Around 6:45 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police said first responders went to Wellington County Road 51 near Ariss, Ont. for a three-vehicle collision. They said two pick-up trucks and a sedan were involved with the driver of one of the trucks pronounced dead on scene. OPP said the other two drivers were not hurt.

A black sedan and a white pick-up truck could be seen in a ditch on-scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

No word on if any charges are expected.
