Some Guelph, Wellington and Stratford schools and child care centres closed Tuesday

Some schools and childcare centres are closed in Guelph, Wellington and Stratford on Tuesday.

Schools with the Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB), the Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) and the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) in Stratford are closed Tuesday because of forecasted cold, wet, snowy weather and road closures.

All school buses and taxis to UGDSB schools are cancelled.

The UGDSB said in an email at 6:06 a.m. that students will be shifting to online learning where possible for Tuesday. They said staff should not go in person to work and should work from home.

The AMDSB said on their website that teachers will post further instruction in the students’ Google classrooms and D2L Brightspaces.

Child care closures

Mount Forest Child Care and Learning Centre in Mount Forest, Ont. and Palmerston Child Care and Learning Centre in Palmerston, Ont. are closed Tuesday.

YMCA child care centres in Wellington County and Stratford are closed.
