668 anonymous tips made to Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington in 2024

Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington has released its statistics for 2024, calling it a successful year for the not-for-profit program.

The organization said a total of 668 anonymous tips were forwarded to their partners in the Guelph Police Service, Wellington County OPP and others.

Those tips, they added, resulted in four arrests, five cleared cases and 18 charges.

“We have been able to safely and anonymously protect tipster information and provide that information to allow the police to investigate and hold criminals accountable for their actions,” CSGW Board Chair Dave Elloway said in a media release.

Successful tips can result in a cash reward.

According to Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington, the board approved $1,130 in rewards for 2024.
