The truck got stuck: Alberta suspects arrested after snow stops getaway vehicle

Two Calgary men are facing charges after RCMP found them in a stolen truck that had become stuck in the snow.

High River RCMP said in a Tuesday news release that the men had attempted to break into the Canada Post office in Blackie, Alta., at 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 7.

Officers arrived on scene and saw the suspects drive off in the stolen Ford F350, but say they got stuck shortly after.

RCMP said there was a “brief confrontation” between the police and the suspects, but they were able to arrest the men.

The accused, a 43-year-old man a 40-year-old, face a combined 17 charges.

Both remain in police custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 10, 2025.

The hamlet of Blackie is located about 70 kilometres southeast of Calgary.
