Roughnecks get pounced on by Mammoth in 11-8 loss

The Colorado Mammoth came storming out of the gates Saturday night in Denver, then hung on the rest of the night to defeat the Calgary Roughnecks 11-8.

Colorado scored five straight goals to open the game, while the Roughnecks got none.

In the second quarter, Curtis Dickson and Tyler Pace each scored to cut the margin to 5-2 before the Mammoth responded with two more to take a 7-2 lead into the half.

Tanner Cook scored twice, and Dickson scored his second, to give the Roughnecks some life -- but Colorado responded with three goals of their own to preserve the lead at 10-5.

Pace, Cook and Dane Dobbie scored for the Roughnecks in the fourth, but Calgary was unable to get any closer.
