RCMP in Brooks, Alta., seize 36K cartons of contraband cigarettes

An investigation is underway after RCMP in Brooks, Alta., seized 36,000 cartons of contraband cigarettes.

The incident took place on Feb.13, when officers received information about a suspicious truck that had a load of cigarettes at a local business.

Officers intercepted the truck, where they seized its contents.

Two people were arrested, then released without charges.

Investigation into the incident continues.
