Bandits play for BCHL title Friday night in Brooks

The Brooks Bandits celebrate after Harry Ahlberg's goal with 11 seconds left in overtime gave them a 2-1 win over Nanaimo Wednesday night.

The Brooks Bandits have a shot to become back-to-back champions of the British Columbia Hockey League Friday night.

The Bandits are coming off a 2-1 overtime victory over the Nanaimo Clippers Wednesday night. Harry Ahlberg scored with 11 seconds left in the first extra period to give Brooks the victory.

The Bandits were anchored by goaltender Zach Zahara, who stopped 43 of 44 shots and was named the games’ first star.

It was the club’s third straight overtime win over the Clippers.

The Bandits lead Nanaimo three games to one.

Puck drop for Friday night in Brooks is 7 p.m.

If the Clippers win, Game 6 will take place Sunday in Nanaimo.
