Attempted Mount Pleasant break-in investigated by Calgary police

Calgary police are investigating after a man attempted to break into a woman’s Mount Pleasant home while she was inside.

It happened at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 in the 800 block of 24 Avenue N.W.

The victim received a notification on her phone that someone was at her front door, but because she didn’t know the man she didn’t answer.

Police say the man started to kick the front door of the home and used a “sharp object” to try to get inside.

The victim ran out the back door and called 911.

The suspect wasn’t able to get inside the home and ultimately left in a silver 2006 Ford Escape.

The suspect is described as being between 40 to 60-years-old with a slim build and long grey hair.

At the time of the incident, his hair was in a ponytail, and he had on a denim jacket, navy-blue shirt, dark-coloured pants, sunglasses and black Nike gloves.
