There are plenty of local events and activities you can check out in Calgary this weekend.

Here’s a look at just 10 things happening around the city:

Mother Mother

What: Canadian indie rock band Mother Mother performs at the Saddledome.

When: Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Roughnecks vs. Knighthawks

What: The Calgary Roughnecks take on the Rochester Knighthawks at the Saddledome.

When: Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

Calgary Flames

What: The Calgary Flames take on the San Jose Sharks as part of the team’s Black History celebration.

When: Sunday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.

Calgary Boat & Outdoor Show

What: Check out products for all your favourite outdoor activities from hunting and fishing to boating, powersports and beyond at the Calgary Boat and Outdoor Show.

When: Friday, Feb. 21 from 12 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 pm. and Sunday Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

February Classic II

What: Spruce Meadows hosts the second show jumping event of the Winter Series – the February Classic II – indoors at the Spruce Meadows Equi-Plex. The event is free and features free parking.

Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture

What: Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture is an all-encompassing Black History Month celebration.

Snow Rodeo FIS Snowboard Slopestyle & Halfpipe World Cups

What: The Snow Rodeo is back at Winsport with halfpipe and slopestyle. The event is free and featuring jaw-dropping tricks.

When: Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

YYC Hot Chocolate Fest

What: Dozens and dozens of specialty hot chocolates will be sold throughout Calgary in February as part of YYC Hot Chocolate Fest, a charitable competition that sees a portion of sales donated to Calgary Meals on Wheels.

A Streetcar Named Desire

What: Theatre Calgary presents Tennessee Williams’ classic A Streetcar Named Desire.

When: Until Feb. 23, 2025.

Spiderboy: The Musical Spiderverse

What: Jubilations Dinner Theatre Calgary presents Spiderboy: The Musical Spiderverse. Watch as Spiderboy fights with the Green Goblin, while also getting to know the new girl at school.
