Wasaga Beach man, 24, charged with possessing child pornography

A 24-year-old man accused of possessing and making child pornography available was arrested following a police raid in Wasaga Beach.

Officers with the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) executed a search warrant and seized several electronic devices for forensic analysis.

The accused was held for a bail hearing in Barrie.

Provincial police remind parents to take proactive action to help protect children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with them about internet safety.

“Children deserve to grow up safe and free from harm. Each time an image or video of child sexual abuse is shared, it can deepen the trauma for that child,” stated OPP CSEU Det. Staff Sgt. Chris Barkey.
