OPP investigates alleged threats made toward Wasaga Beach public school

Provincial police say officers were called to a Wasaga Beach elementary school Friday morning for a report about threats that turned out to be false allegations.

The principal of Worsley Public School notified the police about threats made towards the school, prompting an immediate response from officers.

An investigation was conducted and provincial police say they determined the allegations were false and there was no real threat to public safety.

The school was not placed in a lockdown, but officers did remain at the scene throughout the day to “ensure the safety of students and faculty.”
