Collision closes section of Highway 11 near Huntsville

Rush-hour crash closes Highway 11 near Huntsville.

A serious truck crash forced the closure of Highway 11 northbound for several hours on Wednesday.

Provincial police say the crash occurred at Highway 60 in Huntsville at about 8 a.m.

After the car and commercial truck collided, the female driver of the car was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel.

Police closed Highway 11 at Muskoka Road 2 (Ravenscliffe Road) and rerouted traffic through town towards Highway 60.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigation unit attended the scene and is continuing the investigation. Highway 11 northbound reopened shortly before 4 p.m.
