Garage fire burns Barrie home

Barrie fire crews responded to a fire at a home on Spruce Crescent Saturday morning, requiring the response of multiple units.

According to the city’s deputy fire chief, the call came it at around 9:45 a.m. and the fire started in the garage. Police and paramedics were also involved in the response.

The occupants were evacuated without any reported injuries; however, they are reportedly displaced.

Barrie’s deputy fire chief confirmed that the fire was extinguished within five minutes of crews arriving at the scene. Its exact cause and damage extent are to be determined.

Police closed Spruce Crescent to allow for crews to continue working on the scene.
