Do you know this man? Police investigate after child invited to Stayner park

Police are asking for the public’s help after a man allegedly approached a child in Stayner and invited them to go to a park with him.

According to officers, the incident happened sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday near Brock Street.

Investigators say an unknown man approached a child who was playing in their yard, started a conversation and asked the child to go to a park with him while telling them not to tell anyone about the request.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s with dark hair. He is believed to be tall and was spotted wearing a ball cap and sunglasses. Police have released a sketch created by an OPP forensic artist in hopes of identifying him.
