Allegedly impaired woman charged with stunt driving in New Tecumseth

Police charged an allegedly impaired woman with stunt driving in New Tecumseth over the weekend after reportedly clocking her travelling 50 kilometres per hour over the posted limit.

Provincial police say the accused was heading along Highway 89 Saturday night, east of County Road 56, when the officer spotted the truck “travelling at a high rate of speed ahead of another vehicle.”

"The officer locked their mobile radar at 130km per hour in an 80km per hour zone," OPP stated.

After stopping the vehicle, the officer conducted a roadside alcohol screening device that police say registered a fail.

The 25-year-old woman from Holland Landing was arrested and charged. She was later released from custody with a future court date.
