Suspicious death of man in Kings County ruled a homicide: N.S. RCMP

Police are now treating the suspicious death of a man in Greenfield, N.S., last week as a homicide.

Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man found outside a home on Peck Meadow Road around 3:50 a.m. Thursday.

The RCMP said Tuesday that the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has determined the man was the victim of a homicide.

Police arrested one person on Thursday in connection with the incident, but they were later released without charges.

“The information and evidence collected to date indicates the incident was targeted. The investigation is ongoing,” said the RCMP in a news release. “Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time.”

Police have not released any information about the victim.

The RCMP is asking anyone with information about the homicide to contact the Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit, which is leading the investigation, at 902-365-3120.
