Police investigating two-vehicle crash on busy New Glasgow, N.S., road

Police are investigating a crash that happened a busy road in New Glasgow, N.S., Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 800 block of East River Road just before 10 a.m.

The crash involved a Honda CR-V and a Toyota Corolla.

Police say the Honda was leaving a gas station and trying to turn left to go south on East River Road, while the Corolla was travelling northbound on the road when they collided.

Both cars were significantly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

The drivers were the only people in each vehicle. Police say neither of them sustained life-threatening injuries.

A section of East River Road was closed in both directions for more than an hour while the scene was cleared.

New Glasgow Police continue to investigate.
