N.S. RCMP seizes fentanyl, cocaine worth $50K in Pictou County

The Nova Scotia RCMP seized fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs worth an estimated street value of $50,000 in Pictou County last month.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old man at a Mountville Road property as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation on April 30. Police later executed a search warrant at a Grant Street home, according to an RCMP news release.

During the search, police seized:

• presumed fentanyl
• cocaine
• crystal methamphetamine
• thousands of hydromorphone pills
• cash
• a stolen motorcycle

Officers searched the man’s truck on May 4 and found more presumed fentanyl along with digital scales and stolen tools.

“In total, approximately 35 grams of presumed fentanyl were seized during the investigation,” the release says.

Riley Michael Lloyd from Trenton was charged with:

• possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• three counts of possession of property obtained by crime
• two counts of failure to comply with a release order

Lloyd, who was remanded into custody, is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
