Cape Breton police search for two suspects after convenience store robbery

Police in Cape Breton are looking for two suspects after a convenience store robbery in North Sydney, N.S., last Friday.

Cape Breton Regional Police officers responded to the Irving Circle K on Commercial Street around 3:50 a.m.

Police say staff reported that two men entered the store with a knife, demanded money and ran off with the till and cartons of cigarettes.

Officers patrolled the surrounding areas but were not able to find the suspects.

Police described them as being around fix-foot-five or five-foot-six.

Cape Breton Regional Police have released a series of photos of the suspects; one can be seen wearing a brown camouflage-pattern jacket and the other was dressed in all black. Both wore black bandanas covering their faces.

Police are asking anyone with information on the identify of the suspects, or who may have seen or heard activity in the King, Commercial, Summer, Union or Pleasant Street areas between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 7, to call them at 902-563-5151 or Crime Stoppers.
