Two arrested after over $40K of suspected fentanyl, cocaine seized in Saint John, N.B.

Saint John police have made two arrests in a drug trafficking investigation, according to a news release on Friday.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man and 27-year-old woman without incident from a vehicle on Britain Street in Saint John, N.B., around 2:10 p.m. Thursday.

Police also allegedly seized around $40,333 worth of drugs from them as a result of the arrests.

They reportedly seized:

• 80.87 grams of suspected fentanyl
• 159.1 grams of suspected cocaine
• a cellphone
• digital scales
• $883.95 in Canadian cash

“The 41-year-old male and the 27-year-old female were both arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000,” reads the news release.

The man was held in custody and is set to appear in provincial court Friday. The woman was released with a court date of Aug. 20.
