Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested in Fredericton: police

A 38-year-old man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in Fredericton.

The Saint John Police Force says Joshua Carvell was wanted for failing to return to the Community Correctional Centre in Saint John, N.B.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest on Jan. 31.

Carvell is serving a three-year, five-month and 15-day sentence for:

- three counts of possession of a Schedule I/II substance for the purpose of trafficking

- two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapons

- possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order

- obstructing a public or peace officer

- an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act of New Brunswick
