An inmate at a New Brunswick prison was taken to hospital Monday after Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says he was the victim of an assault.

The inmate, who is serving time at the maximum-security facility Atlantic Institution in Renous, N.B., was evaluated by staff members and taken to hospital to receive treatment.
